She’s a natural born leader with a lot of passion and an eye for the details, and she uses these qualities to create the most unique + stylish wedding celebrations for her clients. With a bachelor of arts in journalism + anthropology, experience in the fashion, public relations + philanthropy worlds, a former cheerleading coach turned pageant girl, Danielle is the owner + creative director of wedding planning, design + lifestyle brand Leilani Weddings, Co-Director of Association of Bridal Consultants Orange County, and founder of The Bachbox.
“My love of fashion + styling began straight out of the womb. Every childhood photo of me is in some outrageously colorful outfit with as many bangles and rings that my little arms and hands could handle – and I rocked it like no other. My love for people began when I couldn’t wait to start school before the age of five so I could meet new friends – I actually told my mom I was bored in Pre-school because all we did was play and take naps. My love of organization + multitasking began when I was six years old and I would read five books on rotation (to “keep it interesting”) while painting my nails and coming up some grand scheme in my head.”
After becoming the first person in her family to receive a college degree, Danielle landed a job as a fashion + events writer with the Orange County Register. She initially got the job by pitching a fashion column idea called “The Look for Less”, where she took runway looks and emulated them by shopping the high street. She was just about twenty-one at the time, but with confidence in her idea, marched into the editor’s office, pitched it, and got the job. Danielle has always loved working with young women, so her experience as as a cheerleading coach for girls aged 12-18 for six years translates well into the mentorship and intern program that she manages. Danielle eventually found a passion for PR, and landed a position as a Junior Public Relations Associate at a boutique fashion PR company in Los Angeles, which is where she ultimately cultivated her love for events, decided she wanted to pursue that as her full-time career, and set out to become a wedding planner. In just three short years, Leilani Weddings, named after her mother who passed away in 2014, has seamlessly planned, designed + executed over 200 weddings and events and has become the go-to company for “the stylish bride celebrating universal love”. The #leilanibride is down-to-earth, a big fan of the details, and are oftentimes marrying interracially, which we think is pretty. freaking. cool. Nobody can ever figure out what ethnicity Danielle is (spoiler alert: she’s German, Belgian, West African, French + Dutch!) and she loves that “global citizen feel” – “the fact that our clients are oftentimes second generation or marrying someone outside of their race makes me feel that we are THE planning company for the modern bride who’s a little against the grain.” Overall, our brides ALWAYS have a passion for style, are looking for a fun, stress-free and organized planning experience.
Danielle has since used this platform to grow her social media following, and is becoming a public figure + mentor for young women on their own journeys to becoming entrepreneurs via her social media channels.
with love and style,
