We are back with another bachelorette city guide and this week we are going to be giving you the inside scoop on…NEW ORLEANS! It’s party central, which makes it the perfect destination for a bachelorette party. With so much to do, eat and drink – let’s get right to it!
The first thing you need to do is find a place that suits you and your girls for the weekend. Whether that be a hotel or AirBnb, the Garden District puts you in a great location to get to everything easily. If you want fabulous, check out this luxurious home, complete with a heated pool or this glamorous garden district home that is fit for a bride! If your goal for the weekend is strictly to party – and party some more – then you should find a place in the heart of the French Quarter. Walk out your door and dance the day and night away on Bourbon Street!
Okay, so you’ve heard about the food in New Orleans, right?! Well, it lives up to the hype. You really cannot go wrong, but we are here to help point you in the right direction. Willa Jean, Justine, Peche, and Atchafalaya are spots you will want to add to your itinerary, but Jack Rose for Sunday brunch is a MUST. With an Ashley Longshore painting of Lil’ Wayne front and center, it makes the perfect place for a photoshoot – that Instagram game will be strong! The food is fantastic, but the real treat are the cocktails. With Frosé, Disco Punch, and Veuve, there is something for everyone. And last, but certainly not least, make sure you get Chambongs for the table…just trust us, your brunch will be truly incredible. Oh, and if a drag brunch, bottomless mimosas, and a Bloody Mary bar sounds like your style, The Country Club is the place to be – maybe go on Saturday so you have a weekend full of iconic brunches!
Next, we move into the drinking part of the agenda – since you’re coming to Nola it means you already know that it’s going to be a heavy amount. If you don’t want to hit up Bourbon Street as soon as your plane touches down, Effervescence and Hot Tin have a more sophisticated New Orleans Vibe. When you’re ready to get down to the French Quarter, you will be overloaded with bars – seriously, we could write a whole blog post just on the bars, but your bachelorette party would be here before you could finish reading the whole thing. With that being said, walk around and check a few out that look like a good time, but make sure to get a famous Hurricane from Pat O’ Briens. Oh, and did I mention Channing Tatum has a nightclub on Bourbon? It’s called Saints & Sinners and per their website it’s known as “Bachelorette Headquarters”, so it sounds like you really can’t go wrong!
Besides drinking and partying, there are some fun activities around the city. Take a stroll down Magazine Street to get in some shopping and stop into the Ashley Longshore Gallery to see her art. Next, head over to Jackson Square to check out all the street artists and get your palms read! While you’re there, stop by Café Du Monde to get some hot beignets and a café o lait. The line will be super long (it always is, no matter what time of day), but it moves quick and SO WORTH IT! Also, it’s cash only so make sure to hit up the ATM before you go. Is your bride the spooky type? Surprise her with a ghost tour since New Orleans is the most haunted city in the United States!
Now, let’s talk about décor, themes, & accessories! Balloons are always a good idea to get your theme across and in New Orleans the theme is pretty straight forward – Beads, Booze, and I Dos. Add in a mask, a ring, and even a sax balloon to set the mood in the house for the weekend! Speaking of beads, get custom beads that everyone can wear when you head to the French Quarter…it’s a fun way to get started on your collection because you are sure to get more of them! Give the bride a custom veil and sash, add cute NOLA shirts, heart sunglasses, and you are ready to hit the town. And you already know you aren’t sleeping, but for the few hours you do get, make sure you have cute sleeping “masks” to keep the theme going. Bachbox is here to help get exactly what you are looking for to create an unforgettable time!
